The NSO’s final concert of the season features soloist Julia Choi, first Violinist in the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. Praised by the New York Times for her “narrative sweep and involving performance,” Ms. Choi will perform one of the most quintessential concertos in the repertoire. Also on the program is Aaron Copland’s heartfelt, pastoral, and moving work, “Appalachian Spring.”

As we approach the 60th anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery marches, the nonviolent marches organized to protest Jim Crow Laws, the NSO will perform Margaret Bond’s romantic and heroic “Montgomery Variations,” in homage to these fearless and selfless heroes who brought hope to countless people. On the same program will be Johannes Brahms’s magnificent and profound Symphony No. 3 in F major.
